Camera Phone Photos of Some Things

This was a quick landscape painting out by a winery using vine charcoal and oils.

The guy was a reproduction, I can't remember the name of the artist... It is a bit different then the original because I used a think application of paint as opposed to the thin smooth layers used by the original artist. The photo quality I kind of poor but I am very happy with the background and the flat square strokes of green.

Both are of these are incomplete oil paintings and in the landscape there is also charcoal (I ended up finishing the landscape). The landscape is actually the area behind Target, which was surprising because I kinda assumed the Target was in the middle of nothingness. I really like the pallet I started to develop it really makes the painting.

These are all landscapes using cut paper on both canvas and paper. My process was to go out and make the colors in the landscape, then come back later with the cut paper and create the houses and landscapes. I had some trouble staying away from making them look too patterned and not focusing on creating a sense of space. But I really had a lot of fun with this idea I got some comments that maybe I should try using different sized colors strips so I might try that.

This is a compilation of pictures from the San Fransisco earthquakes and cloth. I kind of wanted to create this feminine disaster with the color pallet but I think the vine charcoal keeps the painting gritty and not just a pretty pastel colored piece.

The Evils of Painting

So the other day I dropped my glass palette. It is now all destroyed and it took a chunk of my finger in the process. :( Am I too lazy to get a new one? Yes. I guess it is nice to have a mini palette ....

Also note the horrible brown carpeting in my room.

This one was drawn using a soft vine charcoal in my figure drawing class. It is a five minute drawing, but i think it is interesting.

Next to it is the collage Hannah made me :)

The Spark Notes of my Fall Quarter

The top painting is in oil, the bottom one is acrylic. The drawings are in compressed charcoal and graphite.

I really have a relationship with my titty monster painting. And I am kinda disappointed in the picture i took because I don't think it really reflects the humor or the texture in the painting.

I spent so long on this painting, not because it was intricate (obviously) but because I really just had no idea what I was doing with paint. I did not know it would be such a new world. I just assumed that I would be able to jump in no problem. So many re-dos went into this painting I can't help but have a passionate relationship with it. Whether it is love or hate I have no idea..
